5K completed, over $500 raised for NCCF!

A few weeks ago I took a trip to Seattle, Washington to visit my sister Marisa and run a 5K for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. I was able to raise over $500 for the NCCF, bringing the total raised for NCCF to over $1000 in 2 years! Believe it or not, I was able to complete the race without calling an Uber and was even one of the top finishers (despite going the wrong way for a few minutes). Here is the gofundme page, thanks again to everyone that donated! https://www.gofundme.com/nevada-childhood-cancer-foundation

Marisa finishing strong!

Of course, I did some exploring of the city. The layout and the different neighborhoods of the city reminded me of my hometown, Boston, Ma.

After the race, I went to Discovery Park near the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, where my sister lives.

I “discovered” this lighthouse

The following day, my sister and I did a hike called “The Poopoo Trail” in the Tiger Mountain State Forest. The hike took a couple hours, unfortunately, it was very foggy at the top so we couldn’t see too much, but it’s always nice to get out and explore some nature.

At the top of the mountain, just take my word for it.

Downtown Seattle was pretty cool. The Space Needle obviously stands out:

With the possibility of being seen from space, I had to go to the top…

Overall, I had a great trip to Seattle. I got to explore a new city, hang out with my sister, and raise some money for charity. I didn’t play any poker, i’ll save that for the next trip. Here are a few more pictures..

I would like to organize a charity poker tournament in Las Vegas next year. I could certainly use some help, please let me know if you are interested in helping. As always, thanks for reading and I hope you’re running good on and off the felt!
